APG
Advanced Program Guide. DIRECTV new generation of the electronic program guide.
ATSC
Advanced Television Systems Committee. Standardization body that developed the
Digital Television Terrestrial formats.
CAM
Conditional access module, usually referred to as the access card. A removable,
electronic subassembly providing conditional access control of the subscriber
terminal.

Dolby Digital
Digital Audio 5.1 Channel Sound as defined by Dolby Laboratories. Dolby Digital

frequency response audio channels plus one low frequency bass channel.

National Television Systems Committee. Standardization body that developed the
Analog Television Terrestrial formats.
ODU
Outdoor Satellite Dish Unit. The System that provides signal reception and down
conversion.
