repeatedly open and close the disc tray for no
obvious reasons


insert any foreign objects into the disc tray


press hard on the disc tray when it is opened


expose your PC to random electrical noise

remove any disc from the drive before the
transport


pack the drive in the original packing materials

store a disc in its case to prevent dust
contamination, scratches, bending, and other
damage


use a clean, soft and dry cloth to remove dust or
fingerprints. Never use fluids like benzene or
anti-static fluids to clean a disc


handle a disc by its edges
NEVER


touch the surface of the disc


write on a disc or place a label on the surface
of the disc


bend a disc


place or store a disc in places with high
temperature and humidity or under direct sunlight
